Fair use rationale for Image:Jason pt4 unmasked.jpg
[edit]Image:Jason pt4 unmasked.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Who cares? It's a good image and fits in with the article. If you're gonna get so snobby about al this fair use stuff, maybe I won't go on Wikipedia anymore. --The Dark Lord of Wiki (talk) 20:10, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Unexplained/Strange Events & Inconsistencies
[edit]I'm a new user here, so if I've gone about any portion of this entry incorrectly, please accept my apologies.
I'm not sure this section adds anything of note or importance to the page. Prose isn't nearly up to par for a professional encyclopedic entry. Some speculation on the part of the editor:
Rob has clearly spent a lot of time researching Jason (newspaper articles, etc, etc.). He might have shared an interest with his sister about the whole Camp Blood legend and knew immediately that it was Jason who killed her.
I'm thinking the entire section should be removed, along with the Trivia block. That pretty much leaves a plot summary, which I don't think constitutes a GA. Page needs a major revamp. Consensus??

Lainie??
[edit]Someone in this movie during the credits is billed as "Lainie". Does anyone know who this was? I don't recognize the name at all, and all the names of the victims in such are accounted for in the staffroll. Just a minor bit of confusion I'd like to see cleared up before my brain implodes. - Somarinoa (talk) 19:47, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
- Lainie is the name of a paramedic in the beginning of the film, who assists in taking the body of Jason to the hospital. --TFunk (talk) 07:12, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
Format
[edit]Why is "attempted" in quotations when referring to attempting to reboot the franchise? It was indeed an attempt, and thus has no need for quotations. Certainly this should be corrected. ---Deadman 12/17/09 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.115.34.34 (talk) 13:17, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

No Production Information
[edit]This article is missing information on the film's production which should be added to the article in order to completely cover the the film.--Paleface Jack (talk) 17:31, 13 July 2015 (UTC)--Paleface Jack (talk) 17:31, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
Sandra
[edit]"Trish comes across Rob's campsite and learns that he is actually the older brother of Sandra. Rob further explains to her that Jason is still alive and he came to Crystal Lake to get revenge for Sandra's murder." Sandra? What Sandra? Who is Sandra, and why is she making this sudden unexplained appearance in the plot summary? 71.233.90.196 (talk) 22:37, 12 April 2017 (UTC)

Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter → Friday the 13th Part V: The Final Chapter – Much like Part 2 and Part III, the Wikipedia articles are all titled by the title in the billing block at the bottom of the poster. Not by the big title on the poster. We should continue doing this for Part V. ScottSullivan01 (talk) 01:44, 22 August 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. BilledMammal (talk) 06:37, 29 August 2024 (UTC)
- Comment Wikipedia article titles are determined by common usage in reliable secondary sources, not movie posters. 162 etc. (talk) 02:27, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
- Comment This is part IV (4), not V (5).★Trekker (talk) 09:42, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
- Comment Per WP:NCF, "In general, article titles should use the official title of the film as indicated by its billing block, MPAA certificate, press releases, copyright agencies, the Library of Congress, the BFI catalog, the AFI catalog, etc."
- The Billing block here refers to the film as "Friday the 13th – The Final Chapter". This is the same across the other English-language posters here, here, here, and here.
- MPAA certificate says "Friday The 13Th, The Final Chapter" here
- The British Film Institute lists the original title as "Friday the 13th - The Final Chapter". It does list alternatives as "Friday the 13th Part 4", "Friday the 13th: Last Chapter", "Friday the 13th Part IV" as "alternative titles" without going into detail of what context.
- The AFI Catalog lists the film as Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, and Friday the 13th IV, The Final Chapter as a "working title".
- While I'm assuming the title renaming to the wrong number is was an accident, if anything I'd suggest moving it to Friday the 13th – The Final Chapter, but I don't think anyone would be confused by the title or such a discrepancy anyways. Andrzejbanas (talk) 18:20, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- Comment I've twice reverted edits that attempted to blank this discussion. @ScottSullivan01: You can't do that. See WP:RMEC. 162 etc. (talk) 23:18, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- Comment Even if I realize I made a mistake???? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ScottSullivan01 (talk • contribs)
- Yes, the discussion should remain and not be altered. This shows its result, shows what editors were actually responding to, and leaves evidence of prior results in the case of future discussions. If you want to note that you made a mistake of some kind, you can do that in a new comment. If you want to use the discussion above to make a new request below, you can do that as well (although the discussion seems to indicate that others did not agree with the request anyway). See WP:TPO, including "Cautiously editing or removing another editor's comments is sometimes allowed, but normally you should stop if there is any objection"; "A discussion which has been closed with the {{subst:Archive}} or similar template is intended to be preserved as-is and should not be edited"; and WP:RMEC mentioned above.
