Name of group

[edit]

Hello all. I chose to call the page Freedom Angels Foundation since that is how they present themselves (although it's often shortened to just Freedom Angels), even though there's no evidence it's actually a properly constituted foundation (or even a non-profit group). anti-vaccination vs. freedom(-)fighting

[edit]

I reverted a repeated change from "anti-vaccination group" to "freedom fighting group", but afterwards realized that the group is anti-mask as well as anti-vaccination (with "anti-vaccination" taken loosely). If "anti-vaccination" is too specific, "freedom-fighting" is too unspecific. Could it be "anti-vaccination, anti-mask" or similar? –Roy McCoy (talk) 18:20, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Roy McCoy, thank you for reversing the changes. I think we should stick with anti-vaccination, since the sources clearly indicate that is the original purpose of the group and its sole aim until COVID came along. We've seen a lot of anti-vaccination groups join the anti-mask protests in what many sources describe as an opportunistic move to recruit and raise funds; this recent diversification does not change their nature, in my opinion. As time passes, maybe consensus over vocabulary to describe that amalgam will emerge (aside from 'pro-plague', which is facetious and insulting ).Robincantin (talk) 20:15, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
