"Flatfoot Frankie" nickname
[edit]Can anyone find the details on his medical deferment for the WWII draft that led to his "Flatfoot Frankie" nickname? I found several references but no specifics other than his deferment being medical. The great nickname definitely needs to be incorporated into the article though, just having difficulty figuring how where it fits best.--Roswell native 03:43, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
The UCLA Media guide section on the 1943 Rose Bowl listed him as Frankie Sinkwich, not Frank, which made it tricky to match his article. Group29 (talk) 02:42, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
career ender
[edit]How did he have a career ending injury. Then play for two more NFL teams. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wallred34 (talk • contribs) 21:43, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
size
[edit]It would be usueful to add to all these players stats/data, their size - both height and weight. Esp noting that Sinkwich stats appear to be equal to apparently larger person Cam Newton, etc. /s Tierod Tyrell IX 69.121.221.97 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:58, 12 December 2010 (UTC).
Heisman Trophy
[edit]Shouldn't this article mention that Sinkwich won the Heisman Trophy? Or is it in there and I missed it? Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 04:21, 15 December 2013 (UTC)
Birthplace dispute
[edit]So...what's the reason for his birthplace being disputed between either Croatia or near Pittsburgh? Cake (talk) 19:06, 6 November 2015 (UTC)
- @MisterCake: Well they're only a few miles apart. Practically the same, really. I can see how there could be some confusion. Lizard (talk) 07:07, 27 August 2016 (UTC)
- Maybe he was born in a wormhole. Cake (talk) 20:41, 27 August 2016 (UTC)
Biography intro is wrong and contadictory
[edit]If he was born in 1912 and his mother and the other children went back to Croatia, then they could not have both "remained there for the duration of the war" and returned to Youngstown when he was age two, since the war drug on until 1918, at which time he would have been six, so one of these statements (or both) would be incorrect. ` 2600:1004:B117:2E1C:0:4F:2392:4E01 (talk) 17:10, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
