Water car claims

[edit]

I reverted this:[[1]]

Re-wording, and removal of unsubstantiated water claim. Interesting article.

I don't see any water car claims.

Please explain.

Is there a reference for the production of hydrogen from water by François Isaac de Rivaz in 1807 ?,i don't think so, electrolysis came up in 1874. Cheers. Mion (talk) 17:36, 9 August 2008 (UTC), Corr. maybe it is possible [2] as the method was shown around 1800. but still maybe it was produced by reacting zinc metal with hydrochloric acid. Any references ? Mion (talk) 17:56, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
While its possible that the hydrogen used in the car was derived from water, the article should not imply that the water was onboard the car. It was stored in a ballon, apparently in a blend of hydrogen and oxygen. Feel free to put a reference to hydrogen production during that period if you like.Guyonthesubway (talk) 19:55, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

article vandalized?

[edit]

obviously dates wrong and i doubt the inventor was also a "basball" player. why do this to someone's biography? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jrm2007 (talkcontribs) 07:31, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That was vandalism from some anon IP editor, and a bad revert on my part, however another editor now corrected the mistake. -- œ 19:02, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
