Unique decomposition into integer and fractional parts

This was confusing. If “the first definition” refers to · − ⌊·⌋, then one should first explain what is a positional representation of a negative number. Of course, I know that ⋯999.5 = −0.5 and ⋯999 = −1, but one may not expect the same from a reader. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 13:54, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
