The four corners are the product of the beliefs of the ancient ancestors

[edit]

The four corners are the product of the beliefs of the ancient ancestors The ancient ancestors believed that the earth was square, with the four corners pointing to the southeast and northwest respectively. Later, it evolved into four sides. "Shan Hai Jing" called "corner" as " "隅(yú) ", that is, "pole", and the four poles are in the northeast, southeast, northwest, and southwest. Among the "Shan Hai Jing", the "Da Huang Jing" was the earliest book, which involved the names of the gods of the four directions. "Da Huang Dong Jing": Some people call it Zhe Dan, and the east is called Zhe; ...... Some people call it 鹓(yuān), the north is called 鹓, and the wind is called 鹓. It is located in the northeast corner to stop the sun and the moon, so that there is no phase to appear and disappear, and it is short and long. "Da Huang Nan Jing": There is a god named Yin Yin, the south is called Yin, the wind is called Min, and it is located in the South Pole to enter and exit the wind. "Dahuangxijing": There are people named Shiyi, the west is called Yi, and the wind is called Wei. It is located in the northwest corner, and the length of the sun and the moon are measured. There are similar records in oracle bone inscriptions. The Quartet was originally called the Four Corners. Corner is called 旮旯( gā lá)in the Northeast dialect. The ancient ancestors worshiped the corner, and the four corners are where the gods of the four directions are located. As the saying goes: " From which旮旯(corner)?" is the inheritance of ancient beliefs. Worship of the four corners is an important feature of wind worship. The worship of the four corners is a remnant of the worship of the wind. "Shan Hai Jing" and oracle bone inscriptions both talked about the four winds when talking about the gods of the four directions. The ancestors worshiped the wind, and the gods of the four directions were the winds of the four directions. In some places in the Bible, "four winds" are translated as "four directions", which shows the relationship between "square" and "wind". Worship of the Four Winds was very popular in ancient times and was an important belief in the matriarchal society. The ancient ancestors worshiped the wind, chased the wind, and looked for the four corners (poles) where the god of wind was located. Wind worship spread all over the world in the process of chasing the wind. 黎显慧 (talk) 22:46, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
