Character list redirecting to the books?

[edit]

Should the characters that are in the cast list redirect to the character list that is used for the books. A lot of the characters are completely different or do not even exist. Should probably have its own page, or both listed with differences? Geoffrey Allegheny (talk) 03:56, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Prime Radiant

[edit]

I noticed that the words "prime radiant" are sometimes capitalized, sometimes not. What would be better?

Also, in the episode summary of the 10th episode of the 2nd season it is mention that Hari had given the Prime Radiant to Demerzel. This was not previously mentioned in the plot, but should be. Can somebody who remembers in which episode this happened and under what circumstances, add this element to the plot, please Debresser (talk) 22:36, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Brother Darkness

[edit]

This edit makes me wonder, who Brother Darkness was? I remember the term, but don't remember who it was in reference to. Can somebody please remind us. They, or I, could afterwards make the correct edit. Debresser (talk) 23:52, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like already correct to me. Brother Darkness was the fourth brother at the only day every generation when all the four of them coexist, after the new baby infant is born and before the oldest one must go. IKhitron (talk) 11:43, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. Don't you think it should be mentioned in the cast section? Something like "Terrence Mann as Brother Dusk/Darkness"? Or would that be superfluous detail? Debresser (talk) 12:00, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Empire"

[edit]

The summaries say "the Empire" until suddenly in Season 2 Episodes 1 and 2 we see "Empire" as if it were a person. What is this? I see some sloppy writing in the summaries of Season 2; maybe that is the problem, but how can Empire be a person? Zaslav (talk) 00:40, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The emperor is addressed in the series as "Empire". I hope this answers your question. Debresser (talk) 07:31, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your explanation is correct, however, the problem persists in the article and has still not been fixed. Viriditas (talk) 00:21, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Unfaithful adaptation

[edit]

Most avid readers of Asimov, who've actually read the Foundation series of books, along with other works of Asimov, agree that the series is an unfaithful adaptation that deviates from the core ideas of the book. (Would Asimov roll in his grave if he saw how the series interpreted his work?)

But given that this show is a big budget production by Apple TV, there is a gigantic push to hide that narrative, since it may not benefit the studio / producers etc.

Hence, I wanted to invite ideas and sources that accurately capture that this is an unfaithful adaptation / reimagination, that deviates heavily from Asimov's novels driven by cold science fiction premises, and takes viewers more towards a fantasy angle driven by hero characters.

Do note that this is not a criticism of the quality of the series, but the observation that the series is something else entirely from Asimov's books.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Editor+hrs (talkcontribs) May 20, 2025 (UTC)

@Editor+hrs: I'm happy to discuss this with you. If backed up by sources, it can be added to the reception section. My issue is about changing the entire lead (arguably the most important section of an article) based on the single source you've cited while coming across as not having an WP:NPOV on this topic.
