Gillian Anderson
[edit]I see someone just removed Gillian Anderson from the list of alumni. Can anyone confirm one way or the other? Her WP article says she went to Fortismere, which can't be right as it was still Creighton at the relevant time, and also says she returned to the US at age 11. However this which is too old to be contaminated by copying from here says "Anderson remained in and around N8 until the age of 13" which means she must have gone to a secondary school in north London for a year or two, possibly Creighton. Well I went to Creighton/Fortismere, and I have never heard any suggestion that Gillian Andersen went to school there. She lived in Crouch End, so if she did go to a local secondary school, it would most likely have been Highgate Wood. I dunno about her going back to the US at 11... I seem to remember reading somewhere that she got her nose pierced at Wood Green Shopping City. I would be inclined to leave her name out unless someone finds any evidence to the contrary. Natascha McElhone
[edit]I have also removed * Natascha McElhone (Actress) from the list. Her own WP article says that she attended St. Mary's Hall School for Girls in Brighton, and this seems to be confirmed by other sources (which do not appear to be direct copies of WP). I can find nothing that suggests she attended Fortismere, other than mirrors of this WP article. TomH (talk) 21:58, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
Parking a reference and checking for irregularities
[edit]The school is mentioned in an article on St Olaves, and its former head. (Adams, Richard (17 November 2017). "Head of grammar school that forced out A-level students resigns". The Guardian. Retrieved 17 November 2017.) Wikipedia has been careful to remain WP:NPOV on that page following numerous long standing policies. Looking over onto this page, and comparing it with policies and the normal way we write schools articles it is clear that there have been issues- but tremendous enthusiasm to create a good article.
I will make some of the simple necessary changes, and I offer to help SMT and staff to improve the article in a NPOV manner and help them introduce year 10-13 pupils to Wikipedia editing. The Judd School is a WP featured article and can act as a model; Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Article guidelines is a WP essay on writing school articles that is very helpful.
