PEAK is unencyclopedic and written like an ad

[edit]

The recent PEAK-related additions to the history section are written like and ad and, unless and until they withstand the test of time, are not encyclopedic. They are more fitting for an almanac, a press release, a news digest, or a web page devoted to FWISD or to PEAK. I assume that over the past few decades FWISD, like all other school districts of its size and age, have engaged in numerous improvement initiatives. Only those which had long-lasting effect or which were successfully duplicated across many other school districts would be considered encyclopedic. Those which flopped or which are new and untested aren't. This deserves a one-line mention at best. I have a similar issue with school uniforms: They don't deserve more than a one-line mention. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 15:28, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sunrise-McMillan Elementary

[edit]

Fixed the spelling. A simple google search will find hundreds (if not now thousands) of articles which support my spelling change to the correct name of Sunrise-McMillan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.169.255.75 (talk) 08:36, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I.M. Terrell High School

[edit]

I've added I.M. Terrell High School to the list of high schools (I wasn't sure where to put it, so I added a heading, "Defunct"). However, I'm not certain it belongs on this page: did the FWISD exist, as such, while I.M. Terrell was open? When the school opened in 1882 I'm guessing it was just called the "School Board" or some such. Maybe it was FWISD by 1972, when the school closed.
