Scottish or English?
[edit]Norton is desribed as a Scottish barrister and an English politician - would he be best described as British? Berek (talk) 10:28, 9 May 2019 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Moved to Fletcher Norton (judge). No consensus on the 2nd proposed move. I will leave for another discussion which page Fletcher Norton (politician) should target following this closure. (non-admin closure) Iffy★Chat -- 16:48, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
- Fletcher Norton (politician) → Fletcher Norton (politician, born 1744)
- Fletcher Norton (disambiguation) → Fletcher Norton
– Fletcher Norton (politician) is incomplete disambiguation since he is the son of politician Fletcher Norton who, less than seven years before his death, was made a peer as Fletcher Norton, 1st Baron Grantley and whose current standing as the WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT of the Fletcher Norton (disambiguation) page has not been confirmed by consensus. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 20:14, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
- Support Fletcher Norton, 1st Baron Grantley gets 134 views compared with only 32 for this one and 27[[1]] for Fletcher Norton, 3rd Baron Grantley despite being a redirect. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:09, 22 October 2021 (UTC)
- Rename to Fletcher Norton (judge). He was a Baron of the Exchequer for 44 years, much, much longer than his brief tenure as an MP. And yes, we do use "judge" as a disambiguator for Barons of the Exchequer. See Category:Barons of the Exchequer. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:26, 27 October 2021 (UTC)
- I would also support the more-concise proposed form, Fletcher Norton (judge). —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 16:54, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- Support alt proposal of moving this article to Fletcher Norton (judge). Oppose moving DAB page to base name as page views suggest that the current redirect (to Fletcher Norton, 1st Baron Grantley) is primary. I think Crouch, Swale may have misunderstood the position, because of the slightly unusual proposal to move the DAB page over a redirect to a different page.
