[edit]This is an article on the history of astronomy, not a redirect page. This article focuses on the various planets which historically have been acknowleged as the fifth. The planet known as Jupiter is currently acknowleged as the 5th planet from the sun, not including minor or dwarf planets.
Merge with Phaeton?
[edit]No! The theories behind Phaeton and Planet V are vastly different. Phaeton was the hyp raw planet for an explosion producing the asteroid belt. Planet V was (is) the hyp planet that disrupted an already existing asteroid-belt-deLuxe (big) to splatter asteroids all over the inner planets causing the late heavy bombardment around 4100 to 3800 Myr ago. "superseded by the accretion model"
[edit]The link tells me nothing about what is being discussed in this article. I suspect is a a cross-wiring of topics. I shall now de-link. Huw Powell (talk) 08:32, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
