Talk:FMOD
Capitalisation of the name?
[edit]I always thought the name was fmod, not FMOD. Discuss. :) --Sébastien Leblanc (Talk|Mail) 22:52, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
- Never mind, I found out it's ofeficially FMOD. --Sébastien Leblanc (Talk|Mail) 22:53, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
Is "advertising" tag deserved?
[edit]This is the first time I've read the page, linked in from QEMU, and nowhere did it seem biased or non-neutral to me. It simply appears to be a statement of capability which shouldn't be confused with advertising... 68.60.59.250 (talk) 10:30, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- The tag was there from awhile back. I rewrote the article since then. If you feel the the article is now NPOV feel free to remove the tag. --Voidvector (talk) 05:31, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- I think it looked ok, so I removed it. /Cygnus78 (talk) 10:52, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
Games using FMOD
[edit]I deleted this section as it was entirely unsourced, and such large unsourced lists are easy targets for vandalism.. Whilst I'm sure some if not all of the games listed might well have used FMOD, we can't include it without a source, and even with sources, the size of that list was unwieldy. It would perhaps be best to compile a list of notable games using FMOD.86.171.152.184 (talk) 18:37, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
Why is there not more information on this subject. What does it DO. I learned absolutely nothing about it which is rare on wikipedia —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.201.81.18 (talk) 00:41, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
The list of games is just a large collection of links. It doesn't contribute to the topic coverage. IMO, it shall be deleted. An9elFish (talk) 23:34, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
- I found the list of games on the page to be informative on the legitimacy and quality of the tool given how widespread its use is on high budget projects. I as a game developer found use on that list of notable games. Kantuva (talk) 16:22, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
Source code
[edit]I am trying to find out - is it of open source or close. Possibly just wasting time on it ... Alexander Ilyin 22:11, 20 June 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cantregistermynick (talk • contribs)
- Its proprietry software, so no, not open source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.167.111.154 (talk) 05:23, 28 March 2015 (UTC)
Licensing
[edit]I am really not aware of the FMOD licensing options; but, I read an [1] that says it is free for indies, and the article links to FMOD's [2] where they confirm this. But, how does this fit within the current licensing section here? I think it needs updates from someone better informed than me. AudioDesigner (talk) 20:57, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

Outdated article?
[edit]The article opens as "FMOD is a sound effects engine for video games and applications developed", yet the official site's general documentation opens as "FMOD Studio is an audio content creation tool for games, with a focus on a Pro Audio approach." There's no mention of a regular "FMOD" anywhere. It seems the Wikipedia article doesn't even agree with the official site anymore. 90.145.11.77 (talk) 17:37, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
