- Is there a way someone can upload a photo of Shekari that is not at risk of being deleted imminently due to its copyright status? That photo of him has been used on numerous articles (including articles on different countries' versions of Wikipedia), and I would hate to see it suddenly vanish. I've never been great at uploading pictures or confirming which pictures can be used on Wikipedia, unless they're American pictures taken before 1977... :( — Afddiary (talk) 19:58, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
Frequent recent edits to the article have me concerned
[edit]Several recent edits to the article have been deleting sourced information regarding how human rights activists have called Shekari's execution a violation of human rights; there have been a few recent edits suggesting that Saudi Arabia, the United States, and other countries are involved in these protests, and that certain valid sources should not be used because they are connected to certain countries. Some of these edits have flat-out wiped entire sections of the article, including their sources.
For what it is worth, most of these edits have been done by IP addresses with very few edits in their history on Wikipedia.
But I don't want to just revert these edits without getting another opinion here. There have been at least 3-4 edits of this nature in the past day, which further deters me from reverting them. I also don't want to pursue Wikipedia:Dispute resolution without addressing my concerns here. I'm just concerned by these edits due to the wording of the text within them, as well as the fact that they are deleting what I thought was validly sourced information that may reflect poorly on the Iranian regime.
If I was the one in the wrong (due to the fact that I wrote a lot of the original wording in this article) and these edits should stand, I would also like to know that, with an explanation of what I could do better moving forward. Afddiary (talk) 09:44, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
