[edit]How is this an equivalent of Washington D.C.?
- It is the capital of Europe
No, it won't be the capital of Europe. I would imagine that the parallel with Washington D.C. is that it was created out of two states, Maryland and Virginia, which ceded their territory (although Virginia's territory got ceded back). In any event, this article is in desperate need of sourcing. The article was created in 2004; surely there has been some development since then in the negotiations? And would does it mean anyway to be a "Eurodistrict"? Would France and Germany lose some of their sovereignty over the areas? --Mathew5000 01:06, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
I was about to ask ‘How on earth is this the European equivalent of Washington, DC?’. But I see that I am not the first. Quite possibly there may be parallels which could be brought out, but in the absence of an explanation in the article it seems best simply to remove the assertion. Which I shall. —Ian Spackman 04:26, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit]I brought over some information from the French Wikipedia article. It's most likely unrefined.
Concerning the other notes on this article's entry on the translation page, the French Eurodistrict article treats a eurodistrict and a euroregion as different. However, the article at euroregion redirects to eurodistrict.
If someone could please verify that... --Laogeodritt 14:28, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Irrelevant Image
[edit]Why does an image depicting the skyline of Tokyo accompany an article on Europe? Unless I'm missing something, it should be removed. DigitalDracula (talk) 05:01, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
