Identity confusion

[edit]

We have three forms of name for the subject:

Eric Xun Li Li Xun 李世默

Sources tell us he registered himself in the UK as Eric Xun Li and was listed as Eric X Li by a think-tank there. In Hong Kong, as Li Eric Xun (李世默). In the PRC, a 李世默 is listed at a university. In the US, he has been reported widely and consistently as Eric X Li and written op-eds using that name. At the same time, the pinyin for the Chinese name is Li Shimo (Lǐ Shìmò).

The question that arises here is how did he manage to get his identity registered in the UK (and, possibly, also in the US) as "Eric Xun Li" wherein "Xun" is a second given name in the Western form, while his birth name is Li Shimo? I shall change the infobox now because it claims, without attribution that his birthname is Li Xun which looks very unlikely. sirlanz 03:41, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Taiwan invasion

[edit]

He described scenarios for a China invasion of Taiwan, and US support in response. Hard to comment on the validity without expert knowledge [1]. 116.48.56.28 (talk) 00:09, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
