[edit]Reference 3 took me to a 404 error.--Mtlasater (talk) 21:29, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Eric Schmitt. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

Joining suit
[edit]I copied my edits to the Derek Schmidt, KS A.G. article to here, because essentially it's precisely the same article and situation with one letter in the AG's name changed, and the most recent KC Star article I cited names both A.G.'s. Activist (talk) 16:52, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
Non-notable information in Missouri Attorney General section?
[edit]The section about Schmitt's career as Missouri Attorney General contains a lot of detail about specific things that don't seem very notable, and reads more like a campaign bio than an encyclopedia article. For what it's worth, these sections were all added by a single user whose only contributions have been to this article. Mwphil (talk) 17:00, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
The section on his legislative career and early life are similarly full of non-notable information and sound exactly like a campaign bio. I have tried to improve them, but they are still pretty bad. I'm not sure about some things that really don't seem very notable, but it's hard to judge. Flowernerd (talk) 01:40, 29 July 2021 (UTC)
Schmitt after Dobbs ruling
[edit]Shouldn't this article reference Eric Schmitt making Missouri the first state to ban nearly all abortions after Roe v. Wade's overturn?[1] 173.187.145.2 (talk) 16:24, 2 July 2022 (UTC)
Renaming article
[edit]I feel that Eric S. Schmitt is not a suitable name for this article as Schmitt is seldom referred to with his middle initial, going by search trends and news articles. I am proposing the renaming of this article to Eric Schmitt (politician) for this reason. PJRoRo (talk) 22:54, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- I agree with renaming the article but I think it should just be Eric Schmitt since there is only one other person with the same exact name and he is a much lesser known journalist. Putitonamap98 (talk) 03:42, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
To add to article
[edit]To add to this article: Schmitt's failure to meaningfully address the child abuse taking place at the Agape Boarding School (located in Stockton, Cedar County, Missouri), something that has been widely covered in the mainstream media. 173.88.246.138 (talk) 17:11, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
Requested move 7 March 2023
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: moved to Eric Schmitt. Consensus at last! Favonian (talk) 21:05, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
Eric S. Schmitt → Eric Schmitt (politician) – As noted above, he is not referred to with initial. Looking at his campaign website and senate biography and social media shows this to be the case.[2][3][4] Alternatively he could be primary topic and moved to Eric Schmitt, but he's just not "Eric S. Schmitt". --Quiz shows 18:01, 7 March 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. Favonian (talk) 18:30, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- Support per nom.--Ortizesp (talk) 02:57, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- Move back to Eric Schmitt, where this was until Dec 2020. The U.S. Senator is the overwhelming WP:primary topic, with 100x the pageviews of Eric P. Schmitt. Move the dab page to Eric Schmitt (disambiguation). - Station1 (talk) 08:12, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- Relisting comment: Hoping to get consensus for either the original proposal or a promotion of this article to primary topic. Favonian (talk) 18:30, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- Move back to Eric Schmitt - He is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. He's a US senator. I think he clearly trumps the journalist Eric P. Schmitt in notability. Iamreallygoodatcheckers talk 20:02, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- Move back to Eric Schmitt – Eric S. has had much higher pageviews than the other Eric Schmitt, Eric P., since 2016 or so. In terms of long-term notability, Eric S. also has a stronger case. Eric S. filed several major lawsuits when he was Missouri Attorney General. Eric P. hasn't done anything that would bring him to the same level of notability. Kornatice (talk) 21:21, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- Move to Eric Schmitt (without disambiguation) for reasons stated in prior comments. —ADavidB 19:36, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
