Erdoğanism → Political positions of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan – I'm not so convinced "Erdoğanism" may be considered a coherent ideology or doctrine rather than his set of policies aimed at preserving and expanding his power over the country. He has shown "flexible" on issues from the role of democracy, EU membership, or relations to Russia, to name a few. Islamism clearly is part of his political mindset, but is also used as a tool. Rather infrequent mentions of "Erdoğanism" in the media don't make this an undisputed subject of study. We should rather bring this in line with other entries in Category:Political positions of politicians. --PanchoS (talk) 21:59, 30 April 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose: the term is used by reliable sources such as Foreign Policy (here), Forbes (here), MiddleEastMonitor (here), and OpenDemocracy (here). The term appears to usually be written with a standard 'g' as opposed to the g-breve 'ğ' but that is merely a consequence of g-breve not appearing in most languages that use the latin alphabet. Erdoğanism refers not only to the political positions of Erdoğan but also the wider movement. Ebonelm (talk) 16:21, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose term seems to be well established and the proposed title is far less WP:CONCISE. — InsertCleverPhraseHere 09:13, 8 May 2017 (UTC)
