The 'Children' link for Erastus Corning lists Erastus Corning II, which in turn is redirected to the page for Erastus Corning 2nd.
The problem here is that Erastus Corning 2nd (the mayor of Albany) was not the son of Erastus Corning -- he was born over 30 years after Erastus Corning died. As it notes in the write up of Erastus Corning, he is the great grandson.
Erastus Corning jr. was in fact the son of Erastus Corning. He helped to get Grover Cleveland elected President, served on the Board on Fortifications and Other Defenses (the Endicott Board), and was a founding member of the Fort Orange Club in Albany. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.217.224.2 (talk) 22:44, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I believe the lead section for this article is much too long given the substance of the article. Interested editors are invited to weigh in on this, and if there is agreement or at least no objections, I plan to return in a while and trim the lead section.
