@Tidjani Saleh: I've marked this article as patrolled, as the ruling party of Mauritania should clearly be covered in Wikipedia in some form. However, I wonder if this article should be merged with Union for the Republic (Mauritania) and redirected there. If the party has changed its name but not fundamentally changed its structure or gone through a split or merge, then I do not see that it is necessary to have two separate articles, particularly when each is so short. A comparable example in the UK, albeit a smaller party, is the Brexit Party, which rebranded as Reform UK post-Brexit―we cover each party name at the same article, as it was fundamentally the same party. What do you think about merging? — Bilorv (talk) 09:39, 5 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The change is locally interpreted as a profound change of the party as Ghazouani seeks to break all ties with Aziz's past, so I thought it was appropriate to have a new article for this new era of Mauritanian politics. I should also write about all the small parties (including ADIL, which was in government before the coup) that merged into UPR/Insaf, but I still need to do a profound research on that.
In other words, Insaf wants to present itself as a brand new party (even if the 3/7/2022's change is just a branding change) after having kicked the Old Azizist Guard the previous year, with the objective of being able to criticise corruption during the Aziz era without tying themselves to it.
