Should the lede logo be changed?
[edit]If we're being really pedantic, the recent Vector 22 changes altered the logo of the English Wikipedia, moving the text to the right of the glyph globe instead of below. Would it be more technically accurate to change the logo to reflect the new changes? Crusader1096 (message) 06:41, 8 February 2023 (UTC)
- No, the long-standing logo shouldn't change and Vector 22 should change it back to the real logo. Randy Kryn (talk) 13:59, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
Lead structure change
[edit]Due to this article's visibility I would like consensus for changing the very first sentence,
from:
The English Wikipedia is, with the Simple English Wikipedia, one of two English-language editions of Wikipedia, an online encyclopedia.
to:
The English Wikipedia is one of two English-language editions of the online encyclopedia Wikipedia, along with the Simple English edition.
Here, at the last word, "edition" prioritizes grammatical flow and "Wikipedia" would prioritize clarity and, in my opinion, are interchangeable. Apmh 22:59, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Apmh Alright, Good recommendation. BangladeshiEditorInSylhet (talk) 08:58, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
mistake
[edit]launched 23 years ago (not 22 years ago) 41.225.66.214 (talk) 11:35, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
- Not a mistake. tt started on Jan 15, 2001 and it's currently Jan 14. In any case, that will be automatically updated. No-one needs to do so manually. Meters (talk) 11:47, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

adding section about the investigation about pro hamas editor
[edit]There was an investigation that found influence group of editor that manage to manipulate the English version of Wikipedia. I think this should be mention. הויקיפדון (talk) 16:55, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
- Could you explain why PirateWires should be considered a reliable source for these claims? I don't see anything resembling an editorial or retraction policy on their website, or any larger media connections. Remsense ‥ 论 17:56, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
- from what I see it is a reliable and neutral website.
- What issue do you have about the reliability of it? הויקיפדון (talk) 18:31, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
- Other than the potential issues I have already stated above? It's worth mentioning that "neutral" isn't the word I'd use—no sources are neutral. A quick search shows this is a new-ish outlet that has a particular editorial slant and target demographic—Bay Area tech–adjacent, and I hate using terms like this generally, but "antiwoke".
- That was my opinion, but here are basic facts we would have to consider if we're assessing a source's reliability: PirateWires founder Mike Solana is a Peter Thiel protege, and PirateWires is funded by Thiel's Founders Fund. Remsense ‥ 论 18:42, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
