Balance of the article - mostly about illness
[edit]While this is an informative page, it seems that at least half of it is to do with his recent illnesses, which seems a little top-heavy in the context of his entire musical career. Perhaps this can be balanced a little by editing down, or adding more about other aspects of his life? MoseleyWill (talk) 18:35, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

A Girl Like You
[edit]What's the deal with so many people thinking that "A Girl Like You" is an Iggy Pop song? Was there some kind of incident? I mean, it's a really widespread problem...75.101.11.166 (talk) 10:11, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- I have noticed that too as well as it being mistaken for a David Bowie song. (The vocals do have an Iggy Pop feel and the instrumentals a bit like Bowie could have released in the Lets Dance era). Nonetheless since the mistake is only through ignorance and does Edwyn Collins an injustice, there is no need to mention it in the article unless reliable sources are found noting it as a controversy. I am also pretty sure Iggy Pop doesnt mind being credited for such an iconic hit, as long as no one insists he actually perform it. Probably pretty hard to find a xylophone player these days. some cleanup
[edit]I just worked the text of the article to be a bit cleaner and nicer to look at; I also moved some material to lengthen the lead, removing the Template:Lead too short tag. Since I am not in the least familiar with this artist, I hope I haven't stepped on any toes. Please feel free to readd the tag if the lead is still missing any information. Who is "McGee"?
[edit]There is a statement that Collins and McGee had a falling out. But nowhere else is there a mention of McGee, either before or after this. That's the same as the iPlayer biography it's lifted from, just a statement they fell out and no explanation of who he is and in what context they even met or fell out under. - Excelent, thank you for clarifying and editing the article to reflect that. MrZoolook (talk) 21:09, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
