New Expansion/ Edit in fleet/ Question about street car

[edit]

I made two changes. 1) Added in the unused station that is being discussed as being a possible site for the new Oilers rink (near the CN Tower). 2) Made a spelling correction in fleet regarding Regina which was misspelled "Regian"

And finally, should there be a mention in the fleet section that the street car is used by a different society for historical purposes? - Mike Jones

Just what are you going on about? :: Colin Keigher (Talk) 06:25, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
In the Edmonton Sun, there was an article about the possibility about putting the new Oilers rink near the CN Tower, and they said there was an unfinished LRT station right beneath there. Nuttyskadork 17:01, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[User:Nuttyskadork|Nuttyskadork]] 17:01, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Duggan station?

[edit]

Some plans I've seen suggest there will be a Duggan station on the SLRT. Anyone able to confirm this, or confirm that it's being considered? ProhibitOnions 21:10, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm aware there was some talk of a station immediately to the south of the Whitemud that would provie some service to Harry Ainley High School and a catholic High School whose name slips my mind at the moment. Obvously, such a station would serve the immediately surrounding neighbourhoods as well. But this station would be too far north to be a Duggan Station. And the talk never led to an additional station being added at that location.

The South LRT expansion is it is currently being implemented has stations at Health Sciences (near the U of A Hospital), McKernan/Belgravia (114 Street and 76 Avenue), South Campus (near Saville Centre), Southgate (at Southgate mall) and Century Park (old Heritage Mall site). But none at Duggan.

Service Fleet

[edit]

Is there any way that someone could find a list of ETS service vehicles? Alx xlA 02:59, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A list of ETS service vehicles can be found at www.barp.ca [1]. Prevost1003 08:44, 8 July 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Routes

[edit]

Why are there only 4 routes listed? I would put in at least all the single digit ones, as they are all major routes (the 8 and 9, for example). SKS2K6 08:00, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vancouver?

[edit]

I'm going to remove the picture of the Vancouver bus from the article. It is basically useless, since there is already an ETS trolley bus photo. Alx xlA 05:12, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Route listing

[edit]

The listing of routes should be moved onto a separate page. Comments? Rufus843 02:16, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

All Night Service

[edit]

While I don't have details handy, I recall reading about a proposal for 24 hour service in an article on the 2009 municipal budget. I think it was in the Edmonton Examiner, a local weekly newspaper. One or two of the city counselors had raised the matter in debate, but I believe it was dropped for cost reasons.

I can't confirm that any members of the transit union were pushing for this level of service. That would have to be confirmed by someone with access to publicly available union documents.

ETS Platinum Concept Bus

[edit]

Might it be worthwhile to include a segment on the Concept ETS Platinum bus that is currently doing the rounds at some of the local Edmonton events? I just don't know how relevant it is to the article (or will become in the not too distant future) so I make the suggestion here. Forgotten Lords (talk) 17:16, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fares section

[edit]

I think it would be worthwhile to clean up the Fares section a bit, it feels like there is too much white space along throughout this section and the information would be much better represented as a table with Adult/Senior/Youth along the top and the different ticket types down the side. A special cases sub-section would suffice for the specialized passes for students, Post-Secondary Students, and other footnotes like the children 12 and under get access with a valid Adult pass. I need to look up how to do tables in WikiCode, so I will come back in a few days and see if there are objections to the idea or if someone has already done this for me. Forgotten Lords (talk) 00:46, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently the tables weren't as difficult as I expected, so I went ahead and cleaned the section up so it will fit within a single screen's height. I fares section preamble may be a good idea to round the section out. Forgotten Lords (talk) 17:27, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • There is a ridiculous amount of content in this section. Wikipedia is not a travel guide, and if you want to know how much it costs to ride the bus, go to the authority's official website! Ajf773 (talk) 11:12, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Transit Centres

[edit]

I have created redirects for almost all the Transit Centres that are not LRT Stations (They will come soon) The target articles may need some ETS information to be added. This means you don't have to remember the specific piped link to use. See Category:Edmonton Transit System transit centres for the current list. Secondarywaltz (talk) 18:02, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

ETS is owned by the City of Edmonton

[edit]

The point on the infobox where the Operator is the City of Edmonton, does not make sense? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gingeroscar (talkcontribs) 04:17, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your comment doesn't make sense. Are you asking a question or making a statement? ETS is a section of Transportation, and Transportation is a department of the City of Edmonton. The ETS is operated by the City of Edmonton. 117Avenue (talk) 05:16, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
