Hey the riot part is inaccurate. The riots started at the intersection of Pennsylvania and North Ave, well away from Downtown. While downtown saw some looting and widespread protests, it was not the starting place of the riots. The riots really began at Mondawmin Mall at around 3 PM, when youth from Frederick Douglass HS and Baltimore police clashed at Mondawmin. The violence that Saturday night at Camden Yards was very limited and does not qualify as a riot. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.212.183.11 (talk) 11:42, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
Just a note to whomever edits these pages: the Hippodrome link takes you to a page on the Hippodrome theater in New York. Baltimore has its own Hippodrome theater, but I can't find a wikipedia page for it.
- One of our excellent volunteer editors has already taken care of this request. Please visit the Hippodrome article sometime soon. Folklore1 (talk) 00:44, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
Population
[edit]I looked up the population for the boundaries given using the New York Times Census Mapping Tool. The census tracts follow the given boundaries in the article almost to a "T". The most I came up with was a population of 18,766 for the 2010 Census, which actually sounds a bit more realistic than the 37,000 number used. I'm sure a more general definition of "downtown" could come up to that, but for the boundaries given, the population is actually about 19,000. Hope this helps. --Criticalthinker (talk) 05:02, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
