Since the deletion a number of independent sources have written about him and his notability has increased (his YouTube following has increased significantly, for example). In addition, I have written the article from scratch, so it is certainly not identical to the deleted version. - Tristan Surtel (talk) 17:10, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
YouTube following is irrelevant, and there is only a single reliable source that discusses him in detail. I'll be happy to draftify this for you if you'd like, but at this point, it does not meet notability requirements. John from Idegon (talk) 17:19, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to add his (catch phrase? catch intro?). He is definitely noted for saying "Thisss" and "quirks and features" (as has been comedically copied by fellow YouTubers as a nod to Doug's "quirkiness"). I'm not sure how to add it, as there is no "independent, third-party" source that mentions it so I can link a reference to it. Anyone have any ideas? It's me...Sallicio!13:38, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The images on the page aren't the exact cars he owns, they're just images of the same model of that specific car. So I think we should change the wording from "Doug's" to just saying that it's the same model that he owns. I'm mainly only saying this because the Ford GT it shows is red, while his is blue/black. Hello! So I"ve noticed this article has an entire section dedicated just to one of the cars he owned. Is this really WP:DUE? Sure it's around the time he started working for Jalopnik, however that's entirely separate from the car other than him detailing his issues with it. I would WP:BOLDLY remove this but I'd like to discuss it here first. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#654514:34, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Blaze Wolf: I agree with the removal of the section and believe I have on at least one occasion tried to do the same (fans seem eager to re-insert a list of their own, however). The biography already mentions some of the cars that had an influence on his YouTube career (they mostly played a role in launching it, and he has since been much less dependent on them for his videos). More exhaustive lists of DeMuro's car collection seem to be based mostly on non-independent primary sources such as his YouTube videos and his older blogs. The lack of attention to the full list of his cars in secondary sources, in my opinion, points at this being too much detail. - Tristan Surtel (talk) 17:29, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Blaze Wolf: Ah okay; I read a bit too quickly and was mostly commenting on the section you had already removed. The CarMax Ranger Rover one is currently also entirely based on his own blog posts. I feel his car ownership has been somewhat important in his career, so a mention – definitely not two entire paragraphs – might be warranted if it can be supported by a good independent source (not sure if this would count as reliable). For now, deleting this section entirely seems preferable to me over keeping it in order to have some balance in the article. - Tristan Surtel (talk) 17:46, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
