Strangely

[edit]

"Strangely" is not the adverb I'd have used to introduce Double Cola's popularity in Evansville, Indiana. Indeed, it practically stands to reason: Evansville is adjacent to Kentucky, which is generally considered a Southern state. Evansville is less than five hours away from Double Cola's headquarters in Chattanooga, which makes Chattanooga closer to Evansville than to other southern cities such as Richmond (9 hours), Mobile (6.5 hours), Little Rock (7.5 hours), and Savannah (6 hours). Finally, Double Cola enjoys popularity in other cities that are on the border of the Midwest, such as Dayton, Ohio (itself a mere 6.75 hours away from Chattanooga). Double - Evansville connection

[edit]

In addition to the geographics, which doesn't explain much since Nashville, Louisville, Birmingham, Atlanta and several other cities larger than Evansville are closer to Double Cola HQ, I believe it is accurate to say that at one point DC was less expensive than Coke,Pepsi or even Royal Crown products. Evansville's economy has always been comprised of predominantly blue collar and agricultural workers, who in many cases would look for a good quality bargain priced soda. Also, DC had a plant in Evansville (on Franklin Street near Fulton Avenue)for many years which would give extra appeal to its products in a town notorious for being independent, generally unacceptant of change and suspicious of 'outsiders.' Article topic - product or company?

[edit]

Is this article about the product Double Cola or the company? If both are notable the article should be split. NtheP (talk) 13:28, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
