Don Cherry (singer and golfer) → Don Cherry (singer) – Per WP:DAB, disambiguators should be concise and non-unique. This is the only article that describes a (singer and golfer). I'm not too familiar with golf, but it looks like this person only barely meets WP:NGOLF (he "played in" Masters Tournaments, and I don't know if that constitutes "making the cut"; the Canadian Amateur Championship probably is good enough). Browsing the article, references, and authority files, it's clear he was best known as a singer first. Don Cherry (golfer) should be a redirect, and would be my second choice for the title. - I have no problem with the move, but he certainly meets WP:NGOLF: 1) three Walker Cups, 4) Canadian Amateur, 5) 9th in 1960 U.S. Open, 7 cuts in 9 Masters. Tewapack (talk) 18:50, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
- Weak support. We should avoid compound disambiguations wherever possible. He does meet the notability standards for golf players, though, if only barely. 168.12.253.66 (talk) 18:56, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
- Support as a means of simplifying. I don't know if there's a way to tell whether he was better known for singing or for golf, but a cursory investigation suggests there are more sources for his music career than his golf career.--Cúchullain t/c 19:18, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
- Support per nom. In ictu oculi (talk) 22:59, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
- Support. John Davies (swimmer) is another fun one along these lines. A redirect from the second area of fame should do fine. bd2412 T 17:37, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
