- @DantODB: @HHH Pedrigree: this evidently isn't a suitable case for applying an uncontroversial move template. In ictu oculi (talk) 10:13, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- @In ictu oculi: The promotion website list the wrestler as Diamante, not Diamanté. I don't know why people writes Diamanté. [1] [2] [3]
- You'll need to demonstrate that sites with full fonts use accents for other wrestlers but not this one.

- These for example are sites which use full fonts. Sites with limited font sets aren't relevant. In ictu oculi (talk) 13:27, 21 April 2017 (UTC)

- Oppose, edit warring/moving and full font sources support accent. In ictu oculi (talk) 10:10, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- In ictu oculi, I don't know what sources are you talking about. [4] [5] [6] The oficial website writes Diamante, not Diamanté.
- Apparently there are objections, so I cannot carry it out as uncontroversial. Moving it to contested to seek community consensus instead --Kostas20142 (talk) 10:39, 21 April 2017 (UTC)

- Support per nomination. While there are occasional accented mentions of this wrestler's professional name (seemingly to indicate the name's proper pronunciation), the predominant majority of references are unaccented. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 15:29, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Roman Spinner: are there sources which leave off é for this wrestler but include é ó for other wrestlers? In ictu oculi (talk) 17:50, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- @In ictu oculi: there is some inconsistency among the sources with this example, for instance, using no accent in the title header, but adding the accent within the second paragraph. Most references, such as [7] [8] and [9], however, depict no accent. As far as accented letters such as "ó" or "í" are concerned, I have not seen other competitors on the U.S. wrestling scene, including those with Spanish surnames, for example, Amanda Carolina Rodriguez, referenced with accents. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 21:09, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- No, well that's a common thing with sport websites, particularly sports like wrestling, MMA and so on. Most are written in a MOS well below en.wp's MOS. Per WP:RS sources fit for purpose, we need high MOS sources to assess whether accents are present or not. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:19, 22 April 2017 (UTC)

- Oppose it looks at first sight as if the full font sites uses full fonts for this wrestler, and the non-full font sites don't for any wrestler. We use full font sources to determine accents here. In ictu oculi (talk) 17:51, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- Support - official source lists as "Diamante" - how other sites may write it is irrelevant since they are not the ones that determined what her ring name is. Simply test - what does the chryon on the screen show when she is introduced? that's her actual name. MPJ-DK 08:33, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
- Support I talk with MPJ and Dante. Impact Wrestling writes Diamante, it's the official promotion. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 11:50, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose -- assuming that the current version has the correct accents. However the alternative version should remain as a redirect. This is standard WP practice, since the unaccented version is a likely search term. Peterkingiron (talk) 17:29, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Peterkingiron: The current version is accented. The sources writes the name unaccented. [10] [11] [12] --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 10:10, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
- Support The name of the wrestler is the intellectual property of Impact Wrestling and they write it without the accent.LM2000 (talk) 00:44, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
- "Edit War" background
So some mention has been made of the edit war/reverts etc and since i had a big part in that I figured I'll explain. So originally there were two articles
- Diamante (wrestler)
- Diamanté (wrestler)
The first article was created years ago and is about a masked male Mexican wrestler. With the new LAX being created recently the second article was created for the female wrestler. Possibly created as "Diamanté" since "Diamante" already existed. So when people changed the "Diamanté" link to "Diamante" for anything Impact related I reverted it because it was the wrong target. After several people kept making that mistake we came up with the solution to turn "Diamante (wrestler)" into a disambiguation page and put the other pages as "Diamante (male wrestler)" and "Diamante (female wrestler)" as they had identical ring names. Only to find now that the accidental accent is a bone of contention. If IW says "Diamante" then that's the offical name, anything else is a typo. MPJ-DK 12:07, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
- Btw, I talked with the other user, DanteODB and explained the situation. He admited the move was a mistake. here --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 13:56, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
- Support. We do not reject reliable sources just because their own MOS is not to our liking. Personally I don't think we should defer to the styles adopted by sources at all, we should instead have our own style guide and stick to it, but currently our MOS says go with sources, so we should be consistent in this.
