Contested deletion
[edit]This page should not be speedy deleted as pure vandalism or a blatant hoax, because... Its a firm of considerable significant. In particular a number of its directors have been honoured by the British Government with decorations. That indicates its notability --Rathfelder (talk) 14:16, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
About refund
[edit]I called for this to be refunded as the founder ... and at this moment I forget whether John Dewrance (Snr) or (Jnr) ... was also locomotive superintendent. I have a little I can end to this article but not to hand at the momeent. Thankyou.Djm-leighpark (talk) 20:18, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
John Dewrance
[edit]A couple of quick off the top of the head comments. currently uncited. The was a John Dewrance (Senior) who founded the company and was also locomotive superintendent on a number of early railways, and a John Dewrance (Junior) who was to later take over the company. One of these was a Sir. It might be possible if necessary to restructure this article as a bio. but I am inclined to keep it as is and add bio sections to it if necessary. But these are options if people are concerned about company notability.20:32, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
- Update. I have now created the redirects John Dewrance (locomotive engineer) and Sir John Dewrance and fixed a couple of pre-existing wikipedia red links to point to them. I am also getting some indications [1] + Stephensons rocket article that John Dewrance (senior) may have had some influence in the development of the long boiler and brick arch firebox to burn coal smokelessly ??/ ... (I've now run out of steam after a short sprint of editing so not currently pursuing).
