Quotes
[edit]Shouldn't the "quotes" section go into Wikiquote? Unfortunately, I have no idea how Wikiquote works, and I don't have the time to learn right now. Jairuscobb 23:28, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Dubious Information
[edit]Caps and goal figures in the article likely contain European cup/Domestic cup data in addition to Domestic League data (this is very certain based on this user's previous edits containing similar information [1]. Please correct this issue and leave a note here, http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:Alfmaster#Footballers.27_European_goals, to warn this person about putting improper information on Wikipedia. --Palffy 21:21, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Defensive play
[edit]It is said that his unusual defensive mentality was costly to FC Porto. Although he does see more cards that your usual playmaker, that is hardly a problem when compared to the help he can give to his team when it's defending. I was thinking that this should be pointed out and his performance in the Euro 2004 quarter finals(?) against England when he finished the game as a right back should be given as a prime example. VANDALISM !!!
[edit]Someone has write very offending words in the text I think that administrator should put a ban on this person as soon as possible. I hope that Deco will never know about it... Azglahal 16:19, 13 February 2007 (UTC) Visca El Barca.

Prostitute Incident
[edit]Since when is News of the World worthy as a source? I saw the photo. Yeah, it could have been Deco. It could also have been Kermit the Frog, Darth Vader, Peter Moore or my mother. I don't think those ""news"" should be there. --SatoshiMiwa 09:45, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
well he should have some more respect considering hes married with 3 kids. and that was nasty ew thank god they didnt post all of them out or the video
Question
[edit]Does anyone know if he's right of left fooded?
Article name
[edit]Whats wrong with "Deco"? Mattythewhite 20:55, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
Requested move
[edit]I'm proposing this article title to be changed back to Deco. If you check, players like Ronaldo, Ronaldinho or Kaká have they playing names in the title, and we certainly do not use Ronaldo Luis Nazário de Lima, Ronaldo de Assís Moreira or Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite... And, of course, by Wikipedia:Naming conventions we should "use the most common name of a person". Joaopais 14:39, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Support as per WP:NAMEPEOPLE. No doubt Deco is the most recognisable name. — Ash063 14:59, 13

Goals
[edit]Vandalized – at least a month ago. Could someone correct these, I couldn’t find the right figures anymore? In any case, an update date should be added, otherwise I would suggest deleting the whole section. 82.181.157.173 23:52, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Deco?
[edit]what Deco means anyone knows?
Playing Style
[edit]Someone needs to add a playing style section, Deco is probably the best playmaker of this generation and a benchmark as far as world-class game readers go. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.19.203.90 (talk) 02:23, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Transfer
[edit]http://www.goal.com/en/articolo.aspx?contenutoid=697484 Would it be worth putting in? 84.13.255.85 (talk) 18:12, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
No, leave it out. The above article has inthe opening paragraph ...but it is understood that.... What some reported understands is immaterial. Speculation about transfers is often added to Wikipedia, and almost always removed, because it is just that; speculation. The one I have just removed, while it may eventually happen is backed up with a ref to the BBC, which many believe to be a reliable source, but often is just as speculative as other sources. The article referenced contained the following: "But Mike Sewell, BBC Five Live's man with the Portugal squad, said sources were tipping him to move to Chelsea. They believe Deco will go with Scolari rather than join up with old boss Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan," he said. What Mike Sewell - or indeed any other reporter - gets tipped, especially when it is from sources who believe it may happen, does not meet criteria for notable, reliable, nor encylopedic.--ClubOranjeTalk 11:06, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Winners of European Cups with Different Clubs
[edit]Owen Hargreaves was once on the list of players who'd won EC with different clubs. He won with Bayern in 2001 and Man U in 2008. If Van de Saar is on the list, why was Owen Hargreaves taken out? Is is some disgruntled Chelsea Fan? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.58.66.194 (talk) 11:50, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Japanese descent?
[edit]He isn't really of Japanese descent is he? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.195.162.141 (talk) 12:49, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
Of course! See a copy of the french version: Né au Brésil d'un père portugais, d'une mère brésilienne et d'origine japonaise translation: His father is a Brazilian with Portuguese descent and his mother a Brazilian with Japanese roots. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.53.23.154 (talk) 16:20, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Does this mean he can be a 'Brazilian of Japanese descent' then?Spiderone (talk) 12:30, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
I think it is so because of his mother. When you look at other articles here you will find more at least relativated persons with this links e.g. when the grandfather is a German and so on. That´s why i have chosen this category, too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.48.198.26 (talk) 11:46, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Even if he really is a Japanese-Brazilian (this is unsourced and doubtful), one cannot claim a Japanese passport until after living in Japan for a number of years and learning Japanese, thereby qualifying for naturalization. Therefore Deco has never been eligible for Japan.Jxp (talk) 20:19, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
Leaving Chelsea
[edit]Deco signed a 3 year deal, which is listed and referenced and he is currently now in his final year. He has been reported as wanting to 'go home to Brazil' but has not left on a free transfer, best to wait until Chelsea F.C. confirm his departure on their official website, providing he does leave. XTomScottx (talk) 22:58, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
100 Champions League appearances?
[edit]Deco hasn't made 100 Champions League appearances, despite what it says in the opening paragraph. At the bottom, under statistics, he seems to have only played 79 games in any European competition. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GaryReza (talk • contribs) 16:14, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Mention of Miodrag Belodedic winning the UCL
[edit]Miodrag Belodedic has never won a UEFA Champions League trophy, let alone two. His name should be deleted from the mentioned list of players who have won the trophy twice for two different clubs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sonicadv27 (talk • contribs) 20:49, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
