Ways to improve

[edit]

A very helpful Wikipedian, KJP1 (talk), has indicated on the Architecture portal, ways of improving this article: like restructuring, more references and separating the works into lists. In that case, all the Historic England Grade listings can be added. Over to us... --Po Mieczu (talk) 12:10, 8 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Nonsense on stilts

[edit]

"He was a founding Fellow and, later, Vice-President, of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and architect to the Royal Botanic Society from 1840 and an early member of the Athenaeum Club, London, whose club premises he designed and the company of father, James Burton, the pre-eminent property developer of Georgian London, built."

Did you understand that? No, you didn't, because it is devoid of sense, like much of the rest of this unfortunate article.

"Of father, James Burton," etc. My dad used to refer to me as "Son, MinorProphet" rather than "My son, MinorProphet": but I shall be in charge at his funeral, and I guarantee that no encomium will be forthcoming.

It has been a very long time since I read such an outpouring of utter bollocks as this article. My advice is Blow it up and start over, but I'm busy for the next century or so. I am your "neo-gothic nemesis", btw. Is this a rough draft of a Barbara Cartland novel, or part of an encyclopedia? Fuck's sake. MinorProphet (talk) 05:26, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

C-class article?

Is this article being attended to by any particular group? If so can they address the misinformation contained therein, as suggested by other Wikipedians. Some pruning of non essential information is required for an Encyclopaedia.Dorkinglad (talk) 15:16, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
