Daytime in society
[edit]There's no information :/ --occono (talk) 17:26, 20 February 2013 (UTC)
Merger of Day length into Daytime (astronomy)
[edit]Both articles are describing essentially the length of daylight on Earth. However, Daytime (astronmy) has the potential for extending to any planet, is more elaborate and has more articles linking to it. In combining both of them there will be more interwiki links, too.

– This article covers the primary meaning of the word "daytime", as ought to be obvious. All of the items listed at Daytime (disambiguation) use the word precisely in the sense discussed here. Moreover, the use of the "astronomy" disambiguator seems to have led editors to believe that this topic should be discussed purely from the perspective of astronomy, which has led to a poor article - compare night, which is much better. The article could be at day as well, but that seems slightly ambiguous; just dropping the disambiguator should suffice. 209.211.131.181 (talk) 16:21, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
- Support. The nominator explains it pretty well. There's a pretty fundamental significance about a period of the day (see also Twilight) that should go without saying. Egsan Bacon (talk) 17:23, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
- !! and support. Wow. Also, what a disambiguator! Red Slash 05:21, 15 November 2014 (UTC)
- Support. A clear primary topic if I ever saw one. —Neil P. Quinn (talk) 01:26, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
- Support. Looking at the page histories, it looks like the disambiguation page predates the creation of the Daytime (astronomy) article. I assume the latter's creator thought it was just easier to create a new article with a disambiguation title. And whatever reason, neither that editor or anybody else has ever addressed making this the primary topic until now. Zzyzx11 (talk) 03:23, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
- Support, clear primary topic in terms of historical importance. bd2412 T 21:19, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
