Strong oppose alternative "(athlete)" clearly highly ambiguous, there being multiple athletes on the disambiguation page, four athletes are listed. -- 65.94.43.89 (talk) 03:22, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It says he was born in Wales, but it's clear he can also be thought of as a Londoner, and the sources seem to make a big thing of him being Jewish. The Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people)#Disambiguating guideline says the disambiguator should be "what the person is noted for being". Maybe he is notable for being Welsh, but he's more notable for being Jewish, so that would argue for "Jewish athlete", and as an Olympian, he is more notable as British, for being on the British team. With his mixed/joint identity, I think it better to avoid any choice of ours on ethnicity/nationality. Consequently, I support "David Jacobs (sprinter)". Support "(sprinter)" as this is the key occupation, is briefer, and avoids confusion with other named sportsmen that "athlete" has. SFB18:09, 16 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
