[edit]

In Winnipeg, Manitoba, four pedestrians were struck by a driver, none seriously injured. The driver is identified as David Alexander Zegarac, 42, of Headingley, Manitoba. However, this is a common name so despite the coincidence it may not be the same person as this musician.

Does anyone have any details to confirm or deny this?

The police gave the age of the driver as 42 and said he lives in Headingley, which is just outside Winnipeg. We know this David Zegarac's birthday was 15 February 1979, and that he is based in the Winnipeg area. It is highly improbable that there are multiple 42 year old men in the Winnipeg area named "Dav[e/id] Zegarac", so much so that omitting this incident is simply misleading. It is a salient detail that merits inclusion on this page. Acone (talk) 20:10, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's the same guy.--LJA123 (talk) 00:19, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Needs better cites

[edit]

I'm okay with using Exclaim! and Georgia Straight as cites for a person in Canadian alternative music, but the youtube & tumblr links (and the NY Post link, given it's used to establish a politically charged assertion) need to be replaced with something better. I'm tempted to submit this article to AfD and let them deal with it, anyway, as this person is too close to failing WP:N for bad RSes to bootstrap in the WP:BLP problems in the article. Thank you. When I added the NY Post link, I did not know it is considered generally unreliable on enwiki. There were many sources I went through, but chose to add only this, and the cbc.ca one Jay (talk) 07:03, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Personally I would be okay with a NY Post article stating a fact (e.g. "The Manhattan Bridge requires repair, city council members warn". But I wouldn't accept it for political characterization of a polarizing figure (e.g. "this guy is literally 'in Antifa'" - as if the NY Post has "Antifa" membership lists or something). I also put the New York Post article in as a reference--someone deleted it (I didn't know the NYP is considered unreliable, and it is not listed as a deprecated source. I also pointed why this guy shouldn't be on Wikipedia at all--that his article was already deleted once, and he put it back. He also gave all of his albums their own articles. Someone deleted my comments as well. --LJA123 (talk) 00:18, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
