On 26 July 2021, it was proposed that this article be moved to Dave Omoregie. The result of the discussion was not moved. |
BBC Approved
[edit]The article says Dave's father was absent during his childhood. He was deported from the UK in 1998 when Dave was 4 months old. Should this be mentioned - his father couldn't be there, rather than was an absent father due to family break up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.166.216.106 (talk) 09:46, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
- If there is a source for it, then yes. Thanks, Thatone

- Oppose Per WP:COMMONNAME. Sources refer to him as Dave. — Mcguy15 (talk, contribs) 15:48, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose Per Mcguy15. He is not well known by his full name. Sock (

- Oppose. That's why disambiguations and redirects exist. If we are talking title changes then personally I think "Santan Dave" would be better. Contributor404 (talk) 18:40, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose. Agree that if a name change is to happen should be to Santan Dave. It's recognisable and is used on his social media. Kcanz (talk) 20:40, 26 July 2021 (BST)
- Oppose. Nothing has been provided to indicate the current title is problematic. I skimmed some articles called "Dave", and came up with no other contradictory mononymous uses. Nohomersryan (talk) 04:05, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose - Agree with the above, Santan Dave makes a lot more sense but I don't believe you've demonstrated enough why a move is necessary. Madbrad200 (talk) 18:18, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose. Proposed change doesn't seem helpful or beneficial for readers, nor editors. A case could be made for Dave this to be an instance of a partially disambiguated title, as he would undoubtedly be the most notable rapper by the name. Sean Stephens (talk) 12:06, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

Spoken word genre?
[edit]Is there any article that describes him as Spoken Word? Much of his performances seem to incorporate it. 2A02:C7F:40D3:A900:487F:E462:A149:66F8 (talk) 12:33, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
