[edit]Dotty should be a separate page. And why doesn't this article mention Graphviz?

I have created a page for Dotty. I will be working on this page and related pages for a university class project, so there will be a frequent changes and additions. Millebe 19:17, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
I will add images of the various syntax sections as soon as I am on a computer with Graphviz installed. Millebe 07:17, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
IMO the "Limitations of DOT" section doesn't actually describe limitations of the DOT language, but rather a limitation of one particular (unnamed) renderer used to generate the example image. Xoxota 13:59, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- IMO dot isn't any good for humans if you want any control over layout details. It is much easier draw things in inkscape. But if you just want some layout, or automated programmatic graph generation it's a nice tool. Tlepp 15:28, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
Removal of wikipedia section
[edit]I removed the "Uploading DOT images to Wikipedia" section as per WP:SELF. It also just seemed unencyclopedic. bruce89 (talk) 01:15, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
dot syntax highlighting lost
[edit]Since the switch from Geshi to Pygments for syntax highlighting (phab:T85794), support for 'dot' was unfortunately dropped, as can be seen with the plain text formatting on this page and many others, including files like File:Licenses_colored_by_license_type.svg. If you want specialised 'dot' syntax highlight support again, it will need to be added to Pygments. Alternatively, if there is another language which has similar syntax, we can add that as a fallback. John Vandenberg (chat) 15:48, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- Graph Modelling Language also uses 'dot' format. John Vandenberg (chat) 10:39, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
- Feature request lodged. John Vandenberg (chat) 05:07, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
