Vinkovci bypass

[edit]

At 45°17′26″N 18°44′29″E / 45.290457°N 18.741406°E / 45.290457; 18.741406 there's a new railway crossing. From the naming scheme rules, it seems Ž4290 means the bypass (newest number in the vicinity, ~6 km, sounds about right). But from the traffic counting PDF, it looks as if D46 was re-routed via the bypass, while the road through city might be 4290. Anyone know for sure? The local road management office http://www.zuc-vk.hr/ceste.php doesn't clarify. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 11:21, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, the D46 designation has been relocated [1] to the bypass, and I suspect that the county road designation now applies to the route heading into the city - in accordance to the practice of HC elsewhere (D7 in Osijek, D2 in Varaždin, D38 in Požega etc.). --Tomobe03 (talk) 12:16, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I looked it up and legislation is quite murky on this one, but applicable regulation [2] indicates that the Ž4290 branches off from the D46 and terminates at the D55 with Vinkovci in between, making it a very likely candidate for the old D46 route through the city. Furthermore the Ž4169 is defined as branching off from the Ž4290 starting out as Lapovačka St., in turn requiring the Ž4290 to run through Miošićeva and Duga Streets which is consistent with this interpretation--Tomobe03 (talk) 12:55, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that must be it then. Thanks. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 16:41, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
