[edit]Did it really strengthen to hurricane strength over land? That track map looks suspect... (It also doesn't show it as ever stronger than Cat 1 while the article calls it Cat 4.) —Cuiviénen (Cuivië) 04:15, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
- All of the wpac, nindian, and spac tracks are from the JTWC advisory data. If you look at the other spac storms they all look suspect. Look at UNISYS and you'll see the same thing. If anyone can find best-track data for these basins, I'll redo the tracks. — jdorje (talk) 04:26, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
This comment "Townsville at the time however, had a smaller population base than Darwin, which was hit by Tropical Cyclone Tracy on christmas day, 1974" is incorrect. At the end of 1971 the population of the greater Townsville was 76,000 and the population of greater Darwin was 37,000. http://www.townsville.qld.gov.au/about/atlas/population_2.asp http://www.unu.edu/unupress/unupbooks/80506e/80506E0b.htm

Reviewing soon.—CycloneIsaac (Talk) 02:35, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
- Most WPTC articles I've read had something about the demise of the storm. Was anything known about Althea after it lost tropical characteristics?
- "the system dissipated on 29 December." Lost tropical characteristics ≠ dissipated.
- Any reason why JTWC's Best Track is not mentioned in the meteorological history?
- "Just after 23:00 on 21 December," UTC?
- Pressure is suppose to be in hPa, as shown in the infobox.
- The note could probably be mentioned in the prose instead.
- Also, I'm not sure ref #40 is reliable either.
- @CycloneIsaac: Hey, thanks for the review. Good points. I've addressed everything except for the post-tropical info, which I've not been able to uncover despite scouring all the sources I can think of. Hopefully that won't be too much of an issue going forward. Best, – Juliancolton | Talk 02:13, 4 April 2017 (UTC)
