Chilabothrus anguliferCuban boaWP:COMMONNAME. The current name is exceedingly rare to find in use, whether in a web search, Google Scholar or Ngram. The common name appears to be well accepted and unambiguous and has always redirected to this article. — BarrelProof (talk) 18:32, 10 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment I wouldn't use Google Scholar and Ngrams as part of your argument here. The binomial may be used less, but it is (almost) always unique to the species described. This can't be guaranteed with a common name. YorkshireExpat (talk) 14:47, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In the case of this species, the vernacular name seems unambiguous as well as being more frequently used than the binomial. — BarrelProof (talk) 19:58, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
