[edit]Hey, this article shouldn't be a redirect - it ought to cover Committees of the Whole generally, and their role in parlamentary procedure. --BenMcLean 19:01, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
I'd like a more detailed explanation of why an assembly would use a committee of the whole. What can be done or cannot be done in such a committee that makes it different than a full assembly? I see from the article that it differs in each assembly, but the first paragraph should answer these questions in a general sense. Scott Trimble (talk) 01:35, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Committee of the Whole → Committee of the whole – Per WP:NCCAPS, only proper nouns should be capitalized. As this article covers committees of the whole generally, and not a specific body, it should be treated as a common noun. Ibadibam (talk) 20:33, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
- I checked Google Books to see what reliable sources do. Robert's Rules of Order uses a small "w"[1] and that's the ultimate reliable source. However, most of the book references I found use a capital W. [2] [3]. I think I will side with Robert's and support this move. --MelanieN (talk) 23:28, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
