[edit]@Pahlevun: I'm not understanding your changes. Interwiki links are perfectly fine, there is no policy against them (otherwise, they wouldn't be allowed). They also help if readers want to know about someone, when an English article isn't present. It is miles better than just redlinks, which offers no information at all. Fars News Agency described as a "semi-official" news agency of the Government, why would that be a bad source for information concerning changes made by the government? Why are you removing the native name from the native parameter in the infobox? Skjoldbro (talk) 11:30, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Skjoldbro: Fars News Agency is notorious for publishing falsehoods and is not a good sources when you can easily find a better source in English. There has been a recent trend in English Wikipedia to use sources like that, which is awful. Wikipedia:Red link encourage users to create articles while many of articles on the Persian project are flawed machine translations from articles on English Wikipedia. I do not recommend linking to a wiki full of low-quality content at all. Pahlevun (talk) 11:40, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Pahlevun: Do you believe that the presence of an interwiki link encourages/discourages creating articles more or less than a normal red link? While there may be translation problems, I still believe that general information can be interpreted. Additionally, his particular pages seems to be reasonably sourced. I don't see anything on wiki that states it problematic (apart from your own statements). I have however changed it. Skjoldbro (talk) 12:01, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Skjoldbro: Excuse me, I didn't notice that the redlink was still present. Iranian military articles on English Wikipedia are prone to usage of poor sources (see List of equipment of the Iranian Army for example). Frankly speaking, it is very disappointing to see the information that you have took the time to find on a reliable publication (such as the IISS), is being repeatedly vandalized with links to sources like a Persian-language forum (I'm talking about Iranian military articles in general, not this specific case), so I was over-sensitive in that edit and I apologize.
