Which is it?
[edit]Is it "ComSubLant" or "COMSUBLANT". The title shows it one way and the article body shows it another, without explanation. — QuicksilverT @ 02:04, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
- Navy sources seem to consistently use COMSUBLANT. I think it should be moved to that title. Ditto ComSubPac. 72.200.151.13 (talk) 18:00, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: moved. No opposition to the proposed title, but no prejudice against a future RM discussing whether the title should be given in full as a few people were OK with. Jenks24 (talk) 13:19, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
ComSubLant → COMSUBLANT – Official capitalization, which is already in primary use throughout the article. – 72.200.151.13 (talk) 04:50, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
- @72.200.151.13: This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:03, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
- But it is not an acronym. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:03, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
- Yes. It is. COMmander, SUBmarine Force AtLANTic 72.200.151.13 (talk) 05:47, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
- If our concern was encyclopedic presentation of usage then the Ngrams suggest support. GregKaye 06:52, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
- Having said that the ComSubPac,COMSUBPAC related ngrams seem to swing the other way. GregKaye 06:55, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
- I think having two different ways of capitalizing the titles is unacceptable, and I believe we should go with the official capitalization for the article names.

- Support It's not an acronym, it's an initialism. It's also the one the USN has been using for decades. WP should, too. TREKphiler any time you're ready, Uhura 06:30, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
