Trivia

[edit]

At about 1 hour and 6 minutes into the film, Feng Wanyu looks up a calendar showing the 4th of October 1979 and turns the page to October 5. That is day „5“ in month „十月“ of year „1979“. The page says that October 5, 1979, is a „星期三“, a „Wednesday“. But in realty, October 5, 1979, was a Friday.

Furthermore, there are other dates on that calendar page (of October 5, 1979), namely "十六" on the right, probably a day, and "二月大" (or "十二月大") on the left, probably a month in the old traditional calendar, a long month ("大") with 30 days. In the Japanese "old calendar", gregorian calendar October 5, 1979, would have been old calendar 8th month 15th day, where that month was a long month, that is "八月大十五日" as opposed to "(十)二月大十六" in the film - even if the old Japanese calendar is sometimes different (one day in advance) than the old Chinese calendar.
