"Major" Pederson?
[edit]If Deborah Kara Unger's character is a major, why is she clearly wearing lieutenant's rank insignia (2 pips) rather than a crown?CU L8R AV8R ... J-P (talk) 15:18, 6 July 2011 (UTC) Agreed, in most forces an MD is at least a captain. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robertsrules (talk • contribs) 00:59, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
Totally agree. This series is full of holes regarding all things military. The rank (Australian Maj wearing Lt's rank badge). The stereotypical British soldiers a few episodes ago with one of them lapsing into an american accent and the atrocious "Springing to attention and saluting without headdress" at almost every opportunity. The blue screen aircraft and the cgi choppers are very obvious. If they paid a "Military Adviser" prior to filming this disappointing series they have most definitely wasted their money. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.16.107.176 (talk) 23:26, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
Whenever you do shows about the military, you always have to ensure the uniforms don't look like the real thing. So you get slightly weird looks to it all. One of the easiest is to just mess with the insignia. It has something to do with impersonating a member of the military, illegal in both the US and Canada. And the military definitly doesn't want anyone to think this is a real . 68.226.20.51 (talk) 01:02, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
- Uh, no. While it is illegal in Canada for someone to wear military insignia that one has not been awarded while out and about in public, it is not illegal to do so for the purposes of theatrical productions. There have been plenty of productions that have gotten it correct. Whatever happened in this production where they got things that wrong, it's not because of any attempt to be "legal". Oh, and by the way, The Maple Leaf, the Canadian Forces newspaper did a major (positive) story on Combat Hospital so that aren't disassociating themselves from it completely CU L8R AV8R ... - I am shocked, shocked to hear about a TV show that can't get its details right! Isaac Rabinovitch (talk) 18:44, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
Nielson Ratings
[edit]As I am not sure about how to find them for this show, I think it would be relative to the article to include the Nielson Ratings in the episode chart. Does anyone know where I could go to find them? -Poodle of Doom (talk) 16:03, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
August 30
[edit]The episode list shows two episodes for August yet ABC is only showing what is clearly the second. We are obviously missing out on developments. What is going in? Wschart (talk) 02:15, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- You're not the only one noticing something is missing. I noticed to. On the ABC website, where you can watch full episodes, people have the ability to comment. These are the comments that exist at the time of writing:
- -MsSamanthaJae
- ya this one must have been aired outa place or something. makes no sence in some places. i still like it and am happy to see the lil boy back for today
- -traveleroftheworld
- When did Rebecca and Simon get together? Did Col. Marks step down? This episode was so weird. Good but weird
- -XxDUKExX515
- i'm with resuer... i had to get online to make sure i didn't miss anything... i was confused for quite awhile!!!
- -Rescuer55442
- I agree this episode was weird....the kids is back but he left with his uncle two episodes ago, Rebecca and Simon were talking about a missed date that was never talked about before and all of a sudden Bobby had a hurt hand from a fight he had that was never in any other episode. I kept thinking I must have missed a show even though I knew I hadn't. Weird!
- I think, that they were supposed to do a double episode this particular day, but didn't, and something screwed up happened. To be honest, I came here looking for answers. -Poodle of Doom (talk) 16:59, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- Coming back for further discussion, I noticed on the IMDb site for the show, the have a list of recently aired episodes. The go from episode 10 to episode 12. Apparently one was skipped. I suspect this is what blew the plot line wide open. -Poodle of Doom (talk) 17:25, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
In Canada two episodes were aired the night of August 30th (episodes 11 and 12). ABC must have not aired episode 11. All the questions are answered in episode 11. 174.5.11.131 (talk) 17:34, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- Aside from one... why wasn't episode 11 aired? -Poodle of Doom (talk) 15:03, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- Why was 11 skipped by ABC you ask. Simple. The ratings were amazing in Canada but shit in the US and ABC wanted a buffer week between Combat Hospital and the September premieres. All 13 had been scheduled in the US but in late August ABC decided to change things. Canadian shows that get made do get broadcast (nothing goes 'unaired') and most certainly when it is the number one scripted programme in the country so Shaw tweaked the schedule of Global to fit in episode 11 early and episode 12 aligned with ABC. As for IMDb missing episode 11, if a tv show is shown in the US most everywhere you could read about it will say or imply it is an American show and that does include IMDb and even some Canadian journalists and especially Bell Media. Sorry i never had this updated.
American ratings really don't belong on a Canadian show just like you won't see Canadian ratings in the articles for Grey's Anatomy. The NCIS shows are an exception as despite how popular they are in the US they are on a per capita basis even more popular in Canada and Australia. And the creator of NCIS LA is Australian. Here are the sad numbers for Combat Hospital on ABC:- 5.32 million viewers · 1.2 / 3 among adults 18-49
- 4.63 million viewers · 1.1 / 3 among adults 18-49
- 4.28 million viewers · 1.0 / 3 among adults 18-49
- 3.71 million viewers · 0.8 / 2 among adults 18-49
- 3.78 million viewers · 0.8 / 2 among adults 18-49
- 3.79 million viewers · 0.9 / 3 among adults 18-49
- 3.72 million viewers · 1.0 / 3 among adults 18-49
- 3.14 million viewers · 0.8 / 2 among adults 18-49
- 3.63 million viewers · 0.9 / 3 among adults 18-49
- 3.39 million viewers · 1.0 / 3 among adults 18-49
- n/a million viewers · n/a among adults 18-49
- 3.240 million viewers · 0.9 / 2 among adults 18-49
- 3.170 million viewers · 0.9 / 2 among adults 18-49
