Factual Edits July 2016
[edit]I work at Cognita and parts of this page are out of date. I plan to make a handful of minor edits to clarify the number of schools with the Cognita group, ensure all are linked and correct, and include information regarding Cognita's history and present leadership. Do let me know if you have any issues with my edits. Thanks.

Copyright violations & re-written article
[edit]I have created a much reduced and reworded version of this article which can be found here -
I hope this addresses the various copyright violations associated with the old article. Bleaney (talk) 17:42, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

See also section
[edit]This article has no 'See also' section; how about adding one with Gulen movement schools and maybe Waldorf education (along with, eventually, any other big players?) What do you think? I wouldn't want to step on the toes of any major donors or someone else that could make trouble for us, or closer to home, me here. 55378008a (talk) 07:05, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
Edits July 12, 2017
[edit]I am making edits to repair a number of issues on this page. These include removing text where the references are 'red herrings'...ie the reference article does not correlate with he information or the claim being make in the Wiki entry text or, more concernedly, the links don't actually exist/are broken.
I'm also tidying up some of the information to be up to date and factually correct and removed biassed and unreferenced info. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GlobalEducation (talk • contribs) 21:22, 12 July 2017 (UTC) GlobalSchoolsWatch (talk) 22:21, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

Replace Number of locations: 75 schools (2019) to 77 schools (2020) https://www.cognita.com/about/ GlobalSchoolsWatch (talk) 12:30, 28 February 2020 (UTC)
Replace in Leadership:
The Group Chief Executive Officer of Cognita is Chris Jansen, who has over 20 years' experience in consumer products and service businesses and described by the Financial Times as “Cognita schools chief puts trust back in private model”. Prior to Cognita, Chris Jansen was Chief Executive Officer of the AA following six years at Centrica PLC, latterly as Managing Director of British Gas Services from June 2010 to July 2013. From 2000 to 2007, Mr Jansen worked for British Airways PLC, where he held a number of general management roles including responsibility for Concorde, global head of the Executive Club and Managing Director of Airmiles. Before British Airways, Mr. Jansen worked for Procter & Gamble for seven years from 1993, having joined on the graduate programme.[29][28] Mr Jansen is a member of the Corporate Partnerships Board of the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.[30]

[edit]Edit request partially implemented
- The claim regarding Centro Educacional Pingo de Gente & Laviniense could not be added because the Wikilinks for these schools have not been added with the request.
- The number of schools was increased by one.
- The number of students and teachers was not changed. The current claim is that the provider
"employs over 7,000 teachers and educates over 45,000 children"
. As the proposed numbers are over the amount specified in the lead section, the claim in that section is not factually incorrect. - The claim regarding the CEO was removed as WP:PROMO.

[edit]Part of an edit requested by an editor with a conflict of interest has been implemented. The reviewer would like to request the editor with a COI attempt to discuss with editors engaged in the subject-area first. |
1. Please find some additional information in regards to a request edit from 24 February 2020 that was unable to be actioned: Point 3 that the number of students and teachers was not changed - It is difficult to be exact with this information as the number of students and teachers within our schools group changes every 2 - 3 months. We use general figures so the information stays factually accurate for a longer period of time. Our current numbers are 50,000 students and 7,500 teachers. Reference: https://www.cognita.com/about/
2. May I request that the conflict of interest warning message at the top of the Cognita page - 'A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject' - be removed?
Following an edit requested on 24 February 2020, that was actioned 28 February 2020, the content that was causing this message has now been removed. The content on this page is no longer biased or self-congratulatory and is factually correct. Please let me know if you disagree. Thank you.

- Request #1: Implemented though I do see why Spintendo refused to do it, I think it's best to insert the latest numbers.
Request #2: Declined I don't think you know why the maintenance template is there nor do I. As per WP:WNTRMT, you should not remove the tag if (other than having a COI)You do not understand the issues raised by the template
. But it does seem like it is needed. look here. I'd let an uninvoled editor evaluate the issue and cleanup as needed.
