Table bug

[edit]

(I'm using Internet Explorer, if that has anything to do with it.) The way I've coded tables in this article sometimes makes the text for each card appear underneath the card image in the left cell. I've found that a refresh of the page often fixes it. I can't help thinking that perhaps this is because of bad coding. I believe I did the table markup correctly, but if someone has a better solution that won't cause alignment bugs, then that'd be great. --Crisu 00:59, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Delete old card images

[edit]

The Bubble and The Earthy originally had larger and nicer scans for their card images, but I kept the smaller ones recently uploaded to stay consistent with the rest of the page. So I suppose these other (larger) scans should get deleted. It doesn't technically fit the "redundancy" specification in WP:IFD, but I guess I should list it as that anyway? The two old images are Image:BubblesClow.jpg and Image:EarthyClow.jpg. --Crisu 00:59, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also Image:LibraClow.jpg, Image:Light&DarkClow.jpg, Image:MistClow.jpg, Image:ReturnClow.jpg, Image:SandClow.jpg, Image:ThroughClow.jpg --Crisu 17:32, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I originally got those images by scanning them, but I only scanned the images that didn't have any actual pictures (I would've done The Wave, but I don't have it). If you want, I could scan the rest of them, and use those images to be consistent throught the site. AncientNova 03:18, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Heh, well we'll have three sets of images then. Hm.. I mean I'll always vote for the highest quality ones (and your scans are quite nice), but we can save the effort and work with what's already here. I'm still sizing it 99px width (might raise it to an even 100px) on the article, so it won't matter too much after a certain level of detail. I just want to be sure copyright is okay and there aren't redundant copies floating around once we're all done with this project. --Crisu 06:47, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Alright then; I'll start scanning. However, exactly what copyright should I use? The ones I already scanned I put under TV screenshot, but I'm not sure whether or not that really applies, since they technically aren't from TV. AncientNova 00:51, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Depends, what is it you are scanning? A manga? A book? -- Ned Scott 02:28, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What's the range of the "promotional material" tag? --Crisu 04:27, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
They're the actual cards-they came with a manga, but they are essentially a seperate item. AncientNova 20:54, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay... finished scanning all the cards (except for The Wave). Do you think maybe the "art" or "character-art" tag would work? AncientNova 22:56, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oo.. I never knew there was a Template:Character-artwork tag. Yeah, this one should work, since we're considering the Cards individual characters. Are you going to replace all the image URLs? I can help you list all the old ones for deletion if needed. --Crisu 00:00, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, actually that would be great (to tell you the truth, I don't know how to do that...). I'd also like to apologize to whoever uploaded all the other pictures--sorry!AncientNova 19:48, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A-Class?

[edit]

I've been looking through what Wikipedia considers as an A-Class article but I do not believe this, nor the other talk pages in the Anime and Manga Project deserve this rating. Most A-Class pages provide heavily worded information in a nice organized manner with a good number of diagrams or illustrations better describing the topic. None of these really qualify in that sense. It seems to me that the ratings were simply a mistake, and actually meant for the actual articles they themselves are being talked about. --Yukito-san 07:30, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If there were diagrams for Clow Cards, then yeah. But considering the subject matter at hand, these articles cover the subject, are well written, and in a nice layout. The rating was discussed via Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Anime and manga#Clow Cards. -- Ned Scott 07:42, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Appearence

[edit]

I have noticed that in the description the Earthy, there is no description for her humanoid form, so I made one: An intelligent looking woman wearing a cape, with her hair tied up in a heart shaped style. Use it if you wish :Bubble bunny 10:56, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You cannot be serious. What is Wikipedia becoming?

[edit]

You have got to be kidding me. Is this article, along with the other clow card articles, supposed to be a joke? Something like this belongs on a Card Captor Sakura fansite, not Wikipedia.org. Would it be acceptable to create an article about every GameGenie cheat code, split into three sections based on the video games: A-F, G-R, and S-Z? Of course not, since you can find all of that information on their official website. I will not believe for a second that Wikipedia.org is the only website that people must visit in order to find information about the cards used in this anime series. I will not even mention the fact that it is laughable at best that this article has received an A-class rating. 72.188.212.222 23:50, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Not trolling. Not attacking anyone. Not breaking any rules. A legit point is made. Discussion pages should not be censored by self-appointed staff. Let the viewers/members decide for themselves whether or not a valid point was made; however, no one should be censored because someone else feels the need to "defend" a talk page from someone they disagree with. Wikipedia is open free for all, which is what makes it so great. This can be interpretted as "trolling" as well, since it is a known fact that the face of the prophet Muhammad is prohibitted from being displayed, according to Islam: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:Islam#Why_no_picture_of_Muhammad.3F
If you can write a high quality article on it from reliable sources, you can host it here. Card Captor Sakura is a notable anime series. What more is there to discuss? --tjstrf talk 08:44, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Clowcreatecard.JPG

[edit]

Image:Clowcreatecard.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:24, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment demotion

[edit]

Since there have been fair use image problems on this article and on Clow Cards: S-Z, I have demoted their A assessment to B. A-class is a very complete article, the bot removing images has changed these articles a lot due to inconsistent formatting. --Squilibob 10:04, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
