Education

- educated at the Oxford High School for Girls, taking higher certificates in 1893[1]
- joining the Society of Oxford Home-Students in 1894, entered as Claribel Sparling, according to the student register here.
- achieving second class honours in Modern History in 1899.[2][3]
- and graduating as a Master of Arts when degrees were opened to women in 1920.[4]

- I have been checking a new list of the first women admitted to degrees at the University of Oxford. I found Spurling's name, which fortunately is unusual, so I felt it was safe to add the educational details to this article. TSventon (talk) 21:03, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
