[edit]genes dont bind DNA!
At it's best, this is terribly written. It's misleading and much of the information is wrong. Someone should just copy out of a text and cite it....
>> I totally agree! This article (http://www.genome.org/cgi/content/full/15/5/681) gives a fairly good description about the difference between cis- and trans, though it might be that the terms are used in different contexts too.
Merge with Cis-regulatory element
[edit]Go on ! --Dan|(talk) 13:40, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
- Merged as per discussion on this page and also on the target page, Talk:Cis-regulatory element. Would appreciate someone checking that the merge has been done correctly. Sarahburge (talk) 09:52, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
Clarification
[edit]If a cis-acting element need only be contained on the same chromasome, does it then follow that the lacI gene product, the lac repressor protein, is also cis acting? I only ask because this conflicts with information in my Biochemistry 6th ed. Berg, Stryer etc Anyone with a bit more expertise on the language and classification want to shed some light? 142.104.35.170 (talk) 04:37, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
