[edit]

Is it necessary to have the particular External Links given, as they already occur in the References section and in the infobox? I don't think so, but would like to hear others' views DDStretch  (talk) 09:14, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment

[edit]

Cheshire- upped to start, as there are now six references. but there do need to be more. See Judd School to see what can be achieved. The material, if dated, is nicely arranged --ClemRutter (talk) 18:41, 8 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Please can you change the following:

CHANGE [1] MOTTO (because our motto has changed) "Motto -We strive to be a happy, hardworking and courteous school "

SHOULD READ

"Motto - Bringing aspirations to life in a happy hardworking and caring community."

CHANGE [1] STUDENTS(because our number of pupils has increased) "Students 1,276 pupils"

SHOULD READ

"Students 1,350 pupils"

CHANGE [3] - CHRISTLETON HIGH SCHOOL (because there have been changes within the Academy and the acting Headteacher is now the Headteacher also Sixth Form has capital letters) "Christleton High School is a large academy school located in the small village of Christleton on the outskirts of Chester. Its current headmaster is Damian Stenhouse who is temporarily serving as headteacher until a suitable candidate is found.[3] The school has specialist status in Maths and Computing with Business and Enterprise. It has its own sixth form and so offers A-Levels, amongst many other qualifications"

SHOULD READ

"Christleton High School is a large academy school located in the small village of Christleton on the outskirts of Chester. It is a key school within the Christleton Learning Trust, which is a Multi Academy Trust, based in Cheshire. It has its own Sixth Form and which offers A-Levels, amongst many other qualifications. Mr Damian Stenhouse is the Headmaster."

Change [3] - UNIFORM (because we have had changes in the uniform policy as it is gender neutral) "The sixth form have a more relaxed uniform, consisting of - a top with collar (shirt or t-shirt) and any trousers excluding tracksuit bottoms, a sleeved top (that covers the shoulders) and any trousers or skirt again excluding tracksuit bottoms. No tops with large logos or writing is allowed, or clothing that is obtrusive or impractical."

No tops with large logos or writing are allowed, or clothing that is obtrusive or impractical.

CHANGE [4] SPORTS FACILITIES (Because it is an indoor pool and we also have a 3G football pitch) "On site is Christleton Sports Centre, run by BRIO and formerly by Chester and District Sports and Recreation Trust (CADSART). The facilities include a sports hall, gym, squash court, dance room and a large outdoor floodlit court (suitable for tennis and football).[4] A new Olympic sized swimming pool has recently been built. Pupils at the school are free to use these facilities either as part of their Physical education lessons or during breaks in lessons."

Change [6] THE SCHOOL IN THE NEWS(because there are changes in 2017 to our national average) "The school has been in the news numerous times for good exam results - both at GCSE level and A level - nearly always achieving above national average.[6] In 2007 72% of GCSE grades were A*-C and 55% of A level grades were A or B."

SHOULD READ

"The school has been in the news numerous times for good exam results – at both GCSE level and A level - nearly always achieving above national average.[6] In 2017 88% of GCSE students achieved 5 or more grades at A*- C (9-4) and 47% of A level grades were A or B."

CHANGE [9] RECENT IMPROVEMENTS (Because the school had a more recent Ofstead report in 2014, so this is not a true reflection) Please delete "Although in 2010 Ofsted gave the school mostly 1's and some 2's, a big improvement."

CHANGE [9] RECENT IMPROVEMENTS (because the monetary value of the renovation should not be reflected rather what has been improved as a result of that monetary value) Please change "The school has also finished a £750,000 renovation to the rear of the school, which was intended to revitalise and improve the energy efficiency of the building"

SHOULD READ

"The school has also recently finished a major renovation to the rear fascis, windows and roofs of the school, which was intended to revitalise and improve the energy efficiency of the building."[9]

CHANGE ? REFERNECES (this is no longer relevant as the Headteacher has changed) "3. Jump up ^ http://www.christletonhigh.co.uk/headteacher-appointment/82 Retrieval Date: 14 November 2016" Christleton High School (talk) 11:47, 4 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hang on a minute. All these changes should ideally be referenced by Reliable Sources. Can they be? All of them?  DDStretch  (talk) 18:42, 4 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • This change has clear issues. "key school within the Christleton Learning Trust" to me is not really for Wikipedia editors to decide, and whilst the removal of the links for shirt or t-shirt may qualify as valid for overlinking the removal of academy school and Christleton is not. The removal of bolding from the title is contrary to MOS:BOLDSYN, not to mention the removal of existing sourcing with no source at all (last sentence of Recent improvements section). Pinging SparklingPessimist for their rationale/comment –72 (talk) 19:34, 4 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. SparklingPessimist Scream at me! 19:42, 4 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Although not to do with the edits as such, the username of the editor requesting the change is contrary to allowed usernames too (see their talk page). We should be cautious of such requests, given the propensity for entries concerning schools in attracting bogus edits from editors who, if they have a username at all, may use various techniques to shield themselves when they are engaged in mischief. This entry being often a target in the past for such behaviour.  DDStretch  (talk) 21:58, 4 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi all. I originally removed the link to her personal webpage from he alumni entry, and replaced it with a cite taken from her WP page. However, subsequent editors have removed the cite I included (saying it was pointless) and then someone else has later tagged it as citation needed. The cite was there for a reason (to be a citation of sources!) and so I'm proposing to revert those two edits to how I originally left it. Harris (talk) 09:41, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've actioned this now as no-one seemed to complain. Harris (talk) 09:17, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
