The claim that the forests on Christian Island are "pristine" is suspect. Oral reports point to much of the island having been logged clean in the 1950s. Walking in the northern half of the island, it is easy to see evidence of previous logging activity. During much of the year logging trucks loaded with large trunks are in evidence on the car ferry. For the pristine claim to stand, there would have to be much more white pine. Little is left except near the shores Mancusm (talk) 02:37, 13 December 2009 (UTC)mancusm
