Dabbing page

[edit]

This page seems to be a hybrid of two Chris Hills who both matriculated to college in 2001:

Milwaukee Panthers

5'10", From Chicago, redshirted one year

Michigan State Spartans

6'3", From Indianapolis, born Born Feb. 21, 1983. Academic All-America (Men's Basketball Academic All-America of the Year).

Spotchecks

Five randomly chosen citations from this version of the article.

  • 1 good

  • 6 good
  • 9 good
  • 15 can you point me to where "but his total of 306 would have ranked sixth entering the season, but was surpassed by both Jon Diebler (370) and Talor Battle (317). His ESPN profile shows a total of 305 career three point shots made." is verified (through an image or directions).
  • I have added an External link for the 306 total. The ESPN page has been truncated to exclude the stat page. The overview does not show this. Will revise.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 11:42, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • After the 2022 season this no longer was relevant. Jordan Bohannon (455) and Trent Frazier (310), both 5-year players during the COVID era, surpassed Hills total and moved the bubble for inclusion in the top 10 listing in the record book to 308.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 11:53, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Largely good; putting the review on hold while the above is sorted out. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 21:34, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Are there any more available encyclopedic information on the following areas:
  • His college career during 2004 and 2005

Keep in mind that he was not team MVP as a junior or a senior and was not All-B1G as a senior (when his stats fell off). It is fairly common for a person who is not All-B1G (top 15 plus honorable mentions) as a senior (especially when the Big Ten was only 11 teams — vs. the current 14 team and next year 18 team format) to be choosing between the DLeague(now G League) and Europe (where the pay is better).-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 14:30, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The real question is why did he lose his shooting touch as a senior.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 14:40, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Further regarding him making it in the US. Some guys do the NBA summer league and try to get training camp invites and/or D-League/G-League contracts. Those guys may end up signing with international teams in October-November or even December. However, he signed with France in late July according to a July 23, 2005 Lansing State Journal article. He must have either not gotten a summer league deal or got other summer league feedback to give up on the NBA. Alternatively, he got bought out by France for a number that someone of his standing could not command in the US.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 18:05, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • It is a good thing you asked for the spot checks. I broke my glasses last week and won't even be able to get in for a new prescription until April 30 (since my last prescription from Sept 2022 is over a year old, I can't get replacements under my insurance without a new prescription). I am currently wearing glasses from a prescription from either 2016 or 2018. It seems that I misread a 2005 as a 2006 and had completely messed up his chronology. Also missed the fine print that the Big Ten Media guide was only including first team All-Big Ten (maybe did not misread that due to my glasses since I just searched the document for the 12 places he is named).-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 14:07, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
